In November 2000, we started mass production for our partner Seagate Technology, Inc. The combination of Seagate's superior design and Minebea's precision machining and manufacturing capabilities has cleared often-voiced concerns with regard to reliability and manufacturing costs when this motor is fitted into a HDD and made it possible to manufacture a high reliable and cost-competitive spindle motor.

     In February 2001, a new plant exclusively designed for spindle motor and fluid dynamic bearing production has been completed at the Bang Pa-In facility, thus making Minebea ready for expanding mass production.
