Special features
---- RO bearings (named for their inventor "Rikuro Obara") are unique high-precision ball bearings developed by Minebea for use in spindle motors for hard disk drives (HDDs). Conventional spindle motors for HDDs contain two conventional ball bearings. The groundbreaking RO bearings, however, feature two raceways on the inside of the outer ring and one each on the shaft and one inner ring fitted on the shaft, essentially combining the functions of two ball bearings in one while improving the degree of parallelism of the raceway, NRRO (Non Repeatable Run Out) and facilitating more compact designs. RO bearings are also used in Minebea's pivot assemblies for HDDs.
